Our decoding pipeline is engineered for ultra-low latency. Neural signals are processed, decoded, and converted to speech and movement output in real time — enabling natural, fluent interaction without perceptible delay.

Four components, one platform

The Implant

A fully implantable device housing ECoG electrodes, signal processing electronics, and an optical transmitter. Sits on the skull, beneath the skin, with no percutaneous hardware.

The Headpiece

A wearable external unit that receives optical data through the skin and relays it to the processor. Magnetically coupled for easy alignment.

The Processor

A portable external unit running real-time neural decoding algorithms and speech and movement output generation. Designed to be worn or carried throughout the day.

The App

A mobile application that becomes the patient's interface to the world. ABILITY's app turns decoded neural intent into speech, movement commands, text, messages, and control of everyday devices — restoring communication, function, and agency, and putting the power of expression directly in the user's hands.
